In Memory Of...Who?

As the nation morns the loss of the First Lady of the Civil Rights Movement, Coretta Scott King, members of the liberal establishment didn't waste any time promoting their hysterical rhetoric in the most distasteful fashion--by attacking President Bush, instead of using their allotted time to honor the life of one of the most influential figures of our time.  I can't recall a time where I was more angry then when I heard Jimmy Carter (out of ALL people) utter the filth out of his mouth, "We only have to recall the color of the faces of those in Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi who are most devastated by Katrina to know that there are not yet equal opportunities for all Americans."

What a load of GARBAGE.

First of all, it was discovered that more whites in New Orleans died as a result of the Hurricane Katrina disaster than blacks.  Furthermore, the shortcomings of the relief process falls SQUARELY in the hands of (Louisiana Governor) Kahtleen Blanco.  That issue aside, the very last venue that Jimmy Carter should have brought that issue up was during the FUNERAL of Coretta Scott King.  Her legacy--her LIFE--had nothing to do with the response, be that slow, fast, or indifferent, of the government to the Hurricane Katrina disaster.  To say it was in poor taste for Mr. Carter to use his time, which should have been spent reflecting on the wonderful life of Corretta Scott King, to rather attack President George W. Bush because he was in attendence, is a tremendous understatement.  It might have been even more amazing for us to have even expected for Jimmy Carter to say any more than he said.   Since Mr. Carter felt that it was appropriate to attach Bush during the funeral of someone who had no connection to Bush whatsoever, let's explore Jimmy Carter's "legacy"...

Jimmy Carter was arguably the WORST president this nation has ever known.  Without going into much detail about his presidency, I'll stick to some factoids about his governorship of the state of Georgia.  Campaigning for governor as a self-proclaimed "redneck", he stated back then that he was "proud" to have arch-segregationist Lester Maddox as his Lieutenant Governor in 1970--yes the same Lester Maddox who REFUSED to attend Martin Luther King Jr.'s (Corretta's husband) funeral in 1968.  However, according to Jimmy Carter, President Bush is a racist, and it was confirmed by the way HE responded to Hurricane Katrina.  Now why wasn't Kathleen Blanco labeled a racist?  Yeah, that's right, she's a Democrat--she is totally exempt from that description, because she cares about black people--just like anyone else with a "D" behind their name.

l wish someone would redefine "care" to me, because I don't believe that:

1. Using someone ELSE'S money to pay for LOSER-BASED programs, that do NOTHING but ENSURE the present state of the benefactor in exchange for their vote is NOT care.

2. NOT addressing the obvious problems in a city plagued by a piss-poor work ethic, infested with drugs, carjackings, thefts, and murders that far exceed the national average is what I consider "care".

I think that honest communication and actual RELEVANT solutions are prime indicators of caring about a particular race or group of people.  Black Americans have been lied to for long enough, and it is usually at the hands of the very ones who they think "care" about them the most.  Loser-based vote-buying programs are failures, and it is proven by the very fact that most successful people who were benefactors of these programs weren't successful until AFTER they were off these programs.  These programs are DESIGNED to keep people in their present state of need, so they can continue to vote the same way.  What New Orleans should have taught us is the result of a constant implementation of liberal dogma for decades.  In short, liberalism doesn't work because it is the very ideology that causes and ENSURES the very problems that liberals claim only their policies can fix.

It was totally disgusting behavior on display from Joseph Lowery and Jimmy Carter, especially to use the event of a funeral for a great icon of this nation's history to take "stabs" at the current sitting President of the United States.  Last I've checked, funerals are SUPPOSED to be about the life of the recently deceased.  There are TONS of forums that can be created to take issue with President Bush's decisions or policies, but the funeral of Coretta Scott King was NOT the place to do that.  What is blatantly obvious to those people, as well as those who share the same warped view is that they couldn't gather nearly enough people who are of the same warped mindset to participate in such a forum.  Not only aren't they enough people that share the views, there aren't enough people who are as interested in solely discussing such issues.  These type of people can only be reached in churches and clubs for the most part, and since the clubs might be too dangerous for their liking, then they will meet these people at the church to preach their filth.

As bad as spreading the useless liberal message in black churches is, it's only a fraction as bad as degrading a sitting President at the funeral of anyone ELSE.  It is a slap in the face to the family members of the fallen, and it is a insult of the intelligence of the people they were trying to reach with such a message.  Politics aside, funerals are NOT the place to try to get votes for political offices, or to push a political agenda.  I would rather these liberals go back to the business of buying votes with their loser-based programs.  Therefore we can utilize funerals for what they are designed for--to HONOR the life of the recently deceased.  I apologize Mrs. King for them, because they will never do so themselves.  Your memory deserved much more than a side-tracked mind, or a changed subject.
