Gee, Thanks FEMA!

When I made my routine news sweep, I ran across the headline, “Hurricane Evacuees Staying In Hotels Get Reprieve From FEMA,” my blood started boiling. Not only did these LOSERS (for the most part) totally trash these hotels, turning 2,3 plus-star hotels to cheap, extended stay motels, they also make the lives a living hell for the employees of these hotels, and they even provided the PAYING customers with virtually NOWHERE to lodge for the past 3 months!! So now they are getting yet MORE of a “free ride” for an ADDITIONAL 14-39 days? This is mindless. What’s even more mindless is the belief that this decision was made in the name of compassion. What these “evacuees” fail to realize that the very government assistance that they covet is hurting them more that it will ever help. There’s NOTHING compassionate about making the evacuees DEPENDENT on someone ELSE for their own survival. In fact, for many of the evacuees that have yet to find housing 3 months later have ALWAYS depended on someone ELSE for their survival, which is why they are in the situation they are in today—homeless, broke, uneducated, lazy, and clueless. Although, I know that there are exceptions to the rule, they are very rare.
There’s no doubt that Hurricane Katrina has devastated the lives of those from several states. The disaster has destroyed homes, businesses, and cities as a whole. However, the people who are SELF-sufficient and are NOT dependent on others for their survival are already on the fast track to recovery. They aren’t waiting on another handout—in fact, many of those people had INSURANCE. In other words, they properly PLANNED for an event of this magnitude. Don’t get me wrong, it’s very difficult to be completely prepared to lose your home and personal possessions in a matter of hours. However, that doesn’t justify people failing to prepare for such a loss at all. Even for those SELF-sufficient people who didn’t have insurance, they are “rolling up their sleeves,” and going back to WORK—yes work, what a LOST concept in all of this. It is not uncommon to see ABLE-bodied males (not men) sitting around, laid up, waiting on someone ELSE to “swoop down” and rescue them! There are SO many jobs available—especially considering that many of these evacuees are spread throughout the country—that the only reason for NOT getting a job is because they don’t want to work! NO, a person barely out of high-school, let along a dropout, is not going to find a 6-figure job immediately, however, they could easily find a job that pays them enough to be able to provide for themselves. Furthermore, there’s plenty of housing available as well. The only reason that these people haven’t found adequate housing for themselves is because it isn’t in a “convenient” vicinity of a nightclub. There’s tons of livable land in Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana, so if it were that critical, then they could find proper housing instead of turning short-term vacation and business lodging into long-term projects. On the other hand, it is the self-sufficient citizens out there that are taking the best job available until they find another one, and they also find adequate temporary housing for THEMSELVES until they can find permanent housing. The point is that they will eventually restore some semblance of normalcy in their lives. Unfortunately however, courtesy of FEMA, the entitlement culture, which is the culture that believes it’s the DUTY of someone ELSE to provide for their basic needs, has also restored the same sense of normalcy by committing crimes, laying up all day, and REFUSING to find work.
What we need to remember is that hurricanes, and other natural disasters in this country are NOT a new phenomenon—neither is insurance. In the past, when there was total devastation caused by natural disasters, regardless if the victims were insured or not, eventually made themselves whole once again, if not came back stronger after the tragic events. Of course, back then there was no FEMA, welfare, food stamps, or any other vote-buying government handouts. In case you are wondering, “Well how in the world did these people survive?” The answer is very simple: by restoring order THEMSELVES. No lines in government offices, no waiting on checks THEY DID NOT DESERVE OR EARN. These people spent that time REBUILDING their homes and working to make the income necessary to fund their repair efforts. If these victims of the natural disasters back then had children, they didn’t use them as a pawn to get government handouts, THEY PUT THEM TO WORK!!! Not only did it make the children feel more vital to their family’s survival, it instilled a proper work ethic that would eventually benefit them when they became adults. However, today that’s not the case. Courtesy of the government, they have developed a mentality that it is someone ELSE’S responsibility to care for them—all in the name of the children—the very children that would be better served if they had parents that actually gave a damn about their well being. Other than the provider (since there usually isn’t a MAN to do that) of more government handouts, the children really are of no use for the parents, as confirmed by the reaction in Georgia when Governor Sonny Perdue called for the closing of schools for 2 days due to the potential threat of Hurricane Rita.
What angers me the most in all of this is that these government handouts, which aren’t even met with a simple “thank you”, REWARD the very behavior that leads to the culture of dependence in the first place. If the City of New Orleans weren’t mired in corruption for the better part of 40-plus years, then this type of disaster wouldn’t have had the type of impact that it did. There is an entire culture of people that were displaced after the hurricane that have NEVER had to do anything for themselves. Since that is the case for those people, then they will continue to EXPECT government handouts for the rest of their lives. We have to go no further than failed liberal Democratic policies as the reason for this mentality. Therefore extending the “deadline” for FEMA to stop paying hotel costs is going to mean very little to those who are still depending on the “free ride.” I sure hope you don’t believe that this is going to be the FINAL deadline, either. Why? Because these people don’t have any desire to do ANYTHING for themselves. Why is that? Because doing the necessary things for SELF it is not required in society today. So if the taxpayers, i.e. the productive members of society, think this will all end after December 15th, or January 7th, then you are sadly mistaking. These people will continue to spend whatever money they receive (from US, no doubt) on club preparation items, drugs, cell phones, and hairdos. Also these people will also continue to substitute finding work with sleeping ALL day, and do the very things (having sex) to make more children that WE have to eventually care for—AGAINST our will.
We want YOUR comments. We will post them below:

I hope your grandmother gets in one of these storms and face the trauma these people faced. You have no right to warrant any opinion on these people. I know several people who were part of this disaster. Psychologically, these people lives will be devastated forever. One young lady thats here in LA told us how alligators were eating people alive and looking for others who were dead and eating them. You probably will not find anything on this one. I swear its some insensitive cold hearted negroes in this world. Wow, and to think that white people have it out for us.
So when your parents, grand parents or relatives face this kind of trauma and are devasted mentally I would like to hear your opinion then. Remember, what goes around comes around.
Let me ask you one question. What have you done for any of these victims of katrina. I hear you always talking about people being uneducated but lipservice as far as helping them. So what they are uneducated but what are you doing to make a difference? I serve in a number of organizations that help blacks and others. All you do is ride an incompetant presidents ass.

Yo blow job..., mebbe he had the foul misfortune of stumbling across your little hate black folks list where you, NLB-Arps, Curtis, Dave, and the posse of boxer and brief, tinfoil hat wearing 2%'s hold forth in your unbridled Poo Klux Klan hatred of all things black.
Really though, is there no depth to which you and your self-hating ilk won't stoop in your mad dash to gobble crumbs from underneath massa's table?

This BJ is one cold hearted man, I think he would leave his grandmother to rot if she was in this situation, esecially if she is a Negro. Where are the compassionate conservatives?
From: Encino (again)
Notice
how this Idiot will not have an answer for a solution. He can always point out
the bad but never provide a solution. Ask him how many black men have he
mentored and in what organizations. Ask him what contributions have he gave to
redcross and others suffering. This idiot will go and find something negative
about black people.
I guess thats why we have 180 Billion dollars for people on welfare but 800 billion dollars for corporate welfare. Businesses and people who have millions but still receiving money from the government while the poor who only exist gets pennies. His answer is Capitalism. I just call it being a dumbass and inept.

In
thepast I question whether anyone as ignorant of black people like
BJ is was really black. Now I have to question whether or not he's
even human...What a bastard!

So, what are you saying? Are you saying that the Katrina victims don't deserve to get help because they failed to plan? Tell me something, Mr. Ellis. Have you ever suffered a tragedy? If you have, even if it was of your own doing, didn't you still need help? You say you are a Christian, so I don't have to tell you that this way of thinking you have is not at all Christ-like. In fact, when we humans screw up here on earth, this is the time He wants us to really turn to Him to fix things for us. Why? For His glory? Didn't your pastor/parents ever teach you this? Mine sure taught me this. More...

will always be in the care of his masters. Negroes like him don't
live in the same
world as the rest of us. They're paid agent
provocateurs and
informers. No they may preach self sufficiency while
they're just paid
Uncle Toms. How do you think they killed King,
because they paid
Negroes, like
BJ, to inform on his activities.
From Kel:
I
just wanted to tell you that I actually AGREE with you on this. I am a 7th grade
teacher at a predominantly black and Hispanic urban school here in
Charlotte, NC and although there are always exceptions I find it sad that so
many of our black brethren seem content in failure. I'm on the front lines,
I see many of my black students sleeping during class, acting a fool and getting
expelled. You do all you can as a teacher but the prevailing attitude never
changes, it's one of excuses, non-progress, of just not giving a shit. Then
you meet their parent and it's no doubt that the apple never falls far from
the tree...pulling up in brand new escalades but talking about section 8
apartments, louis vuitton bags and nikes but no school supplies to
contribute to the educational welfare of their children, angry at the
school system for our "faults" and the fact that in their view having
too much education is considered "white" and nothing else but hot air
and a boatload of excuses for why their child fails to do anything but warm a
seat. It angers me...I mean, what does the "White Man" have to do with
this picture? Even my Mexican kids seem baffled, like "why they don't
want to learn?" We have been here longer than they have but it seems like
black folk still don't get it...
And I truly do grieve with the victims of the Hurricane but c'mon they've had...weeks, months...ample time to figure out a solution to the long term ramifications of their current position. The hotels were never meant to be a long-term solution. Here in Charlotte there was a news story a while back where several Hurricane victims had to be removed from their hotel by the Salvation Army agency b/c they refused to comply with the rule that they couldn't have others (not affected by the Hurricane) living with them. Great way to kick someone in the ass who is offering "relief" to you. It's sad, shameful, I say...
Anyway sorry to bother you but I just wanted to say that there are a few who feel the way you do. Continue to speak the truth. They need to hear it. :)
